Uses for Vinegar

Now, when you think about vinegar, you probably think about oil and vinegar over a salad. Vinegar has a lot of other uses around the house that are pretty handy. It's a great cleaner. For example, if you've got spots on your carpet, even pet spots, mix up half water, half white vinegar, and go to work. Now don't overwet, make sure to ring out your rag real good, and do blotting all along as you go. It not only gets rid of the spot, if you get on it early enough, you probably won't have that pet odor.

And another thing: If you have a party around your house -- you have a lot of people that smoke or maybe left beer cans around -- pour a little vinegar into a dish and put it out in the room. It'll help absorb all the odors.

Vinegar is a great cleaner for mineral deposits, and, a lot of times, our plumbing gets clogged up with mineral deposits. For example, if the shower head isn't working too well, take it off, put it in a pan, and, if it doesn't have any plastic parts, you can bring the vinegar to a boil, but if it does have plastic parts just get it good and warm. And that will take care of that. And, while we're talking about the shower, if you have spots on your shower door, they're probably going to be soap spots or they're probably going to be mineral deposits; warm vinegar will take care of that. Vinegar is also good for removing rust. If you use plaster of paris, you can slow down the drying time by putting a little vinegar in there. And, if your iron has quit steaming, you can run vinegar through there, and it will get rid of all the problems.
