Fun Projects: Copper CD Rack
Tools
  • Tube cutter
  • Ruler
  • Flux/Solder
  • Torch
  • Glue (if you don't solder)
  • Sand Paper
  • Safety Glasses
Materials
  • Coil - 1/4" O/D copper tubing
  • 44 - 1/4" Copper "T"s
  • 4 - 1/4" Elbows

Cuts from Coil
  • 44 pieces at 3/8"
(these are connectors for the "T"s)
  • 20 pieces at 5"
    (these are the shelf racks)
  • 2 pieces at 3 1/2"
    (base rail)
  • 2 pieces at 3"
    (top rail)

Solder together following this diagram for a nice rustic look. You could also buy glue for copper if you do not wish to solder the pieces together.

For a classic copper patina, set the rack outside for a few days. Once the desired look is achieved, seal it with clear spray sealant.
