Hi-Tech Toilets (segment #5616)

We all know about remote controls for a TV or VCR but a remote control for the toilet? I’ll tell you about this and some other high tech products, coming up so stay right there

Today, we’re going to check out some innovative products for man and beast. This is Buster over here and these products all deal with an age old problem but here’s some new solutions for that problem, the first concerns a dog’s waste, what to do with it and here’s one solution its called the Doggy Dooley. The way this works is you dig a hole for the product. This goes in the hole; dig the hole with post digger or spade; with this scoop you pick up the dogs waste and the waste goes in here. Inside there are two holes; you fill it with water add some enzyme and you have your own septic system. The cost about $40.00 the enzyme another $10.00 a great way to handle dogs waste, but what about the cat, check this out.

This is the Litter Maid by Windmere. It’s a self-cleaning litter box, your cat goes into the litter box, does his business, when finished he triggers a sensor. That turns on the litter box, and causes this rack to move through the litter. If this ball was what the cat left behind (cat poop), you can see it picks it up and drops into this box. The rack retracts closes the box so the room doesn’t smell. Then you just throw out this little box and you’ve cleaned up without dirtying your hands couldn’t be easier, you need to use a clumping type litter. This takes 8-D batteries or it can plug into the wall. A little ladder for cat to get in and for the bashful cat there’s this tent to give your cat some privacy, and there are these disposable box liners, the cost of all of this about $200.00, now we’ve taken care of the cat, the dog, what about people? Check this out.

Most of us would love an odor-free bathroom, but that’s not possible right? Well, Kohler has a new product, which is working, towards the odor-free bathroom. It’s a Toilet Ventilating Kit, it sucks up odors from here up through the plumbing, There’s a fan here and a special filter and it doesn’t mask the odors it eliminates them.  It goes on automatically if the water moves or the flusher is used, and stays on for about 35 seconds. It fits in most any toilet one of the down sides, If you have a toilet that uses a float ball you’ll have to change it for a compact valve, another downside, it needs a A/C outlet which most of us don’t have next to the toilet. You may need an electrician to install one and that can be costly, the cost of this kit about $140.00 and it is certainly a fresh idea.

This might be the ultimate toilet seat, its by a company called Toto and its called Zoe. It’s not only heated and has a built in ventilating system, it also has a remote control and when you push this button, a wand comes that that sprays warm water to clean your behind. With this remote you can increase or decrease the intensity of the water spray, and you can turn it off with this button. It fits a lot of different brands of toilets, but if you have the combination tank and toilet it may not fit those. It goes on just like a normal toilet seat, down side it needs electric. Just like with the last product, so if you don’t have an outlet you may need an electrician. This is very popular in Japan and Europe, but the company says here in the US, we’re a little “behind”. This high tech toilet seat by Toto costs about $600.00 and that’s the bottom line.
