Bathroom Grout

Al Carrell: There's probably nothing yuckier than looking in a bathroom that has stains in the grout lines in between the tiles. Now, most of the time you can take bleach, put it in a spray bottle and spray over these stains. Now whether they're mildew or whatever, they're gonna disappear. But sometimes, they just won't go away. I'm gonna tell you a couple of ways that you can take care of that problem.

The best way in the world is to just cover over that with a whitener. Now there are several kinds on the market. This particular one is already mixed. All you have to do is just reach in and get a little bit of it and start rubbing it and I would use a gloved finger and that can be the tool that you use. Once you get the stuff on there, then you have to come back with a sponge or a rag and wipe it off. Now, that's a little bit on the messy side, but it does do the job. But I found another one that I think is really great.

The container is like a shoe polish bottle with that little sponge up on the top. Now, all you have to do is open up the container and squeeze a little bit and it starts leaving that white stuff right down in the grout joint. If you miss a spot just come back over it. Don't worry about the stuff you're getting' out on the side, because it will come off very easily. When you get the whole wall done, you come back before it has a chance to dry and you take a damp sponge and just start rubbing over it. Because of the good stuff that's down inside this... the joint, you don't have to worry about that. Now, after you get it looking white the next thing you wanna do is to seal it so that you don't have anymore problems, and there are a couple of ways to do that. First of all, you can get a spray that's made for sealing the grout and also you can get a liquid made for the same thing. Once you get it sealed then it's gonna be protected for a long time and you can forget about it.
