Plastic Ceiling Tile (segment #8109)

Ceiling TilesCeiling tiles are a great way to add beauty, drama and elegance to a room. And these days, there are a ton of tiles available for homeowners. There's tin, metal, plaster, fiberboard, cork and even plastic tiles. Some even work as a sound barrier to keep unwanted noise away.

We installed high impact, polymer plastic ceiling tiles made by Ceilings Magnifique. And the great thing about these tiles is that they look like plaster, but they're much more durable. They are also lightweight, and they won't rust, mold or deteriorate. So they are great for any indoor or outdoor application. And they're not just for residential use. They've been used a lot in restaurants, banks, bars, stores and boutiques.

Ceiling TilesCeilings Magnifique tiles come in a variety of styles, so there's something for everyone. While most people buy white tiles, they do come in different colors and you can even custom order colored tiles. The white tiles can be painted with any oil-based paint. They can also be washed. All you need is water and a little soap.

Installing Ceiling TilesCeilings Magnifique tiles can be attached to any solid surface ceiling like sheetrock or in a suspended grid system. To attach them, you can use nails, staples or glue. But if you are using glue, it has to be Liquid Nails AC-138 because that's the only type of adhesive that will bond to the polymer tiles. It's also a good idea to put a little bit of glue in the center of each tile during the installation, so the tile won't sag. Any excess adhesive can be cleaned immediately with warm water or mineral spirits.

Ceilings Magnifique offers free design consultation and layout services. They also offer a variety of styles of crown molding and corner pieces to match the tiles you choose. Ceilings Magnifique tiles can be installed by any homeowner, or by a professional. So the overall price depends on how much work you want to do.

Installing Ceiling TilesThe hardest part of the installation is the measuring because if you don't lay the first tile in the correct location, your entire installation will be off center. Since every room is a different size, finding your starting point will be different for each application. But Ceilings Magnifique will explain that to you and tell you exactly how to measure for your particular installation.

There are certain tools you will need for this installation including a utility knife or scissors, tape measure and pencil, chalk line, staple gun and staples (3/4" staple) or hammer and 3/4" finish nails, Liquid Nails AC-138 adhesive, caulk gun, and a straight edge. Once you get started, most installations are complete within three to eight hours, depending on the size of the room.

So if you want the look of a tin ceiling of yesterday, or the feel of a beautiful plaster ceiling of Europe, but you like the durability that these tiles offer, contact Ceilings Magnifique.
