More Information

Interior doors Whether you're building your dream house or simply want to update your existing home, one of the many design choices you have is what kind of interior doors you want to accent your living space. For our Project House, we chose the Bolection Door. In fact, we installed more than 54 Bolection interior doors. Bolection doors are superbly made, offer the greatest design flexibility in the door industry and offer custom dimensioned doors without extra cost. Read on to learn why Bolection should be your door selection.

Bolection Vs. Standard "Hollow Core" Door

Hollow core door In many homes, the default door is a hollow core 6-panel door. The hollow core door is less expensive. But it does not offer the quality and benefits of a Bolection door. For example, a hollow core door is lightweight and porous which allows sound to penetrate easily, making for a noisier environment. It is made of paper based fiber and literally is held together in the center by layers of cardboard which make it less than sturdy.

One-piece MDF The Bolection door however, is made of one-piece medium density fiber board (MDF). MDF is a manufactured wood product made by Willamette Industries. It's basically made of sawdust and other waste gathered from the plywood manufacturing process. The mill mechanically refines wood fibers. Then, they add resin and bond them together under heat and pressure. MDF is manufactured in layers like pages in a thick telephone book. It resists the problems common to natural wood like warping, cracking and splitting. MDF is extremely smooth. It cuts and "works" just like real wood, and it's got the same density as oak so it's great for interior doors.

With the Bolection door made of one-piece MDF, you get a sturdy, solid door that baffles sound and has the look and feel of real wood without the cost. And unlike real wood doors, the MDF is guaranteed not to warp, crack or split. Plus, MDF will not expand and contract when exposed to seasonal humidity changes like wood. In addition, there will be no panel separation which could expose unpainted or unfinished wood which diminishes the beauty of your door.

Design

The Bolection Door company uses computer aided design (CAD) which gives the homeowner infinite design capability. And because the Design Bolection door is milled, you can achieve whatever profile you desire to fulfill your vision of your home's interior design. And these doors offer flexibility to meet your requirements. For example, stiles and lock rails can be adjusted for special hardware requirements. Or, bottom and top rails can be widened or narrowed to match heights of interior mouldings. Also, Bolection door provides bonus room doors, or half-doors, that can match all or part of whole door design, giving design uniformity throughout the house.

Priming

The Bolection doors are double sanded, and double primed on each side. All edges receive four coats of primer which means they're thoroughly sealed. When the Bolection door arrives, it is ready to receive construction grade paint immediately. And remember, Bolection doors offer quick delivery. With their large inventory of raw materials combined with flexible manufacturing, your custom designed doors can be ready almost immediately. And compared with other manufacturers, you'll save money because pricing is based on the size of the door, not the design.

So, if you're looking for design flexibility, sturdy MDF construction, improved sound insulation and a custom door look in your home, consider Bolection Door.
