We're building this year's Project House amid the rolling hills
of North Central Texas, in a 2,500 acre mixed-use community called
"Castle Hills".
The developers encourage architectural diversity in the subdivision,
and we've managed to achieve a stunning design for the Project House
by working with The Evans Group of Orlando, Florida. Founder Don
Evans and The Evans Group have won over 500 home design awards.
The Project House is situated in the middle of the block, closely
set between two previously built homes, but also sits atop a small
hill, with an expansive view in the front to the northeast. To create
a sense of privacy in the close-in setting, yet still create an
open, sunlit and airy indoor-outdoor flow, Don Evans "pulled
the house into itself" by working with a U-shaped design.
The home is designed to be both functional and space-conscious.
The formal area includes a Grand Foyer entry into the Gallery that
opens into the Grand room, which will feature a three-sided built-in
Aquarium wall connecting to the Dining Room. The informal living
space includes the home centers around a Gathering Room and Gourmet
Kitchen with a Cafe that leads out to a Dining Porch. The entire
first floor of the home opens onto the large covered lanais of the
tropical pool environment through numerous windows and sliding doors.
The idea is to create the feeling of an "oasis" within
the home.
The Master Suite features such amenities as a private Master Foyer,
Lounge Sitting Area overlooking the lanai and pool, large Master
Bath, and His/Hers Wardrobes. The Guest Cabana includes bath, fireplace
and large sliding doors that open to a covered trellis with spa.
The second floor of the home is designed with children and guests
in mind, with a guest suite, two bedrooms, a playroom with half
bath and snack bar, library and Internet Alcove.
